PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE COMPLETING YOUR MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION 

1. MEMBERSHIP YEAR

This covers the period from the 1st July 2023 to 30th June 2024. A $15 administration surcharge applies to any membership renewal that follows 12 months or more, of non-financial status.

2. ENTITLEMENTS:

Single Member: A financial Individual Member is entitled to show as many horses as possible throughout the year and be eligible for trophies and awards subject to a registration being in place and a performance card purchased, for each horse contesting, with the Association. They may attend any meeting throughout the year and attend and vote at the Annual General Meeting. The holder of a Single membership is entitled to participate at any event run by the Standardbred Pleasure & Performance Horse Association of Victoria Inc. (SPPHAV Inc.). All non-members will be charged an Associate membership levy at the first event attended.

Associate Member: A financial Associate Member is entitled to attend any meeting throughout the year and also attend but NOT VOTE at the Annual General Meeting. An Associate Member cannot register a horse or purchase a performance card. Junior Member: Please see “Single Member”. Junior members are not permitted to vote at an AGM.

Family Member: Please see “Single Member”. Details are the same. Membership is for adult partners living at the same address or 2 parents and all children under the age of 18 years, living at the same address. Family membership is for immediate family only – Husband/Wife, Parent/Child, Siblings, Foster Child

3. CLAIMING TO BE A MEMBER

No person(s) have the right to claim membership of the Association until such time as being notified via the receipt of a current financial year membership card. Points will only be awarded at nominated point shows for the current show season when (a) the person becomes financial , (b) the horse in question is registered with the SPPHAV Inc. and (c) the member has purchased a current season’s Performance Card for consideration of an Annual Award. Merit Awards: are based on attendance or participation as detailed on the Merit Award information sheet.

4. SPPHAV Inc. NEWSLETTER SPPHAV

Membership entitles financial members to receive copies of the quarterly SPPHAV newsletters, details of all SPPHAV run activities / events and other organisation’s show programs when they become available.

5. SPPHAV Inc. Rules of the Association, Code of Conduct, Risk Management Policy, Showing, Dressage and Showjumping Rules and Guidelines.

Copies of the Rules of the Association, Code of Conduct, Risk Management Policy, Showing Rules and Guidelines are provided to all members on joining the SPPHAV. Copies of these documents are also available on the website for viewing and we suggest you read through to know what is acceptable.

6. CHANGE OF CONTACT DETAILS

If you change your phone number, postal or email address at any time, please notify the Association as soon as you can, otherwise you may miss out on receiving correspondence. If you have any queries or require further information on membership or dealing with the Association’s Register, please do not hesitate to email the Registrar via memberships@spphav.org.au
